This is a BIG month — The MLC has completed delivery of our first-ever mechanical royalty payments to you, our Members!
In this month’s newsletter, you’ll find more info on the Royalty Payments via our FAQ section, a friendly reminder to check your data (because it’s really important and helps you get paid), updates to The MLC Portal, a listing of new upcoming and informative webinars to register for, and more!
Everyone at The MLC is very excited about this month’s royalty distribution to Members, which is bringing to fruition the primary goal of the Music Modernization Act of 2018 – to get rightsholders like you the money you have earned.
The MLC has added an FAQ section to our website that specifically covers all you need to know about Royalty Payments. You'll find helpful information about the schedule of monthly distributions, the royalty rates and terms The MLC is using, the payment options available to Members, and much more. And as a reminder, there is a dedicated page on our website that outlines the timing and schedule of future royalty distributions as well.
This is just a quick reminder that our trained and knowledgeable Support Team is ready and willing to try to help address all of your questions or concerns, particularly any you might have regarding your royalty payments and statements and registration issues.
The “Maintenance” section has now been renamed to "Member Settings." You will find all of your account information in this section.
Works that currently have a hold on them now display a flag on the work detail view in both the Catalog and Public Search.
Users now have the ability to search by Member Song IDs in the Catalog.
Checking your musical works data for accuracy is the most important thing you can do to ensure you receive all of the mechanical royalties that are owed to you.
The MLC encourages Members to regularly check their musical works data, especially as you begin to register new musical works. If you ever come across any errors, and you administer the work you can correct them yourself within the Portal or work with our Support Team to get them resolved. If you have a publisher, CMO or administrator, please contact them directly.
